Over the years Brooklyn College has earned a national reputation for academic excellence. The College would not be the institution that it is today if not for the strength of its Library, a vital force for the welfare and integrity of its academic programs. President Christoph M. Kimmich recently termed the library "an article of faith" for Brooklyn College.

Like many academic libraries, we face numerous challenges, including:

  • The rapid rise in the cost of Library resources.
  • A continuing decrease in public funding.
  • The need to maintain a competitive edge in an increasingly technological environment.
  • To meet these challenges, the Library depends on private donations from graduates, members of the College community, and the community at large. There are many opportunities to support the Library; whichever you choose, your gift will support the educational process of generations of students.
