About Top The New Media Center provides media solutions to the entire campus community. The New Media Center (NMC), located on the 2nd floor of the Library, provides the campus community with all the contemporary media tools necessary in today's academic world. This facility oversees 3 large computing areas located on the 2nd floor, 1st floor, and Lower Level of the Library. The NMC also oversees media rooms appropriate for study or class sessions, the Woody Tanger Auditorium (a fully automated, high capacity venue), and a large collection of media (including video recordings of commercial movies and ethnographic & technical films) available for in-house loan.

Computer Labs Top Computer labs are located on the 1st Floor, 2nd Floor, and Lower Level, as well as in the Library Cafe. There are hundreds of PCs and a dozen Macs available to all library users: 113 PCs are available on the Lower Level (installed software) 63 PCs are available on the 1st floor: 41 PCs in the reference area (installed software) 22 PCs in the Reserve Room (installed software) 105 PCs and 12 Macs are available on the 2nd floor (installed software) Additionally, there are computer labs located in the Library Café (65 PCs and 10 Macs) and WEB (hundreds of computers, including PCs, Macs, and Sun/UNIX machines). Language Labs Top The NMC offers a fairly wide variety of materials that duplicate what is available in the Language Labs. The New Media Center makes available many of the same materials that are in the Language Labs on campus. Loan Periods Top Media are circulating material. Circulating videos are charged out at the New Media Center on the 2nd floor. The loan period is 10 days. Loan periods for reserve media are usually 2 hours (for in-Library use only) or 3 days. Borrowing time limits are placed on materials to ensure that they are accessible to as many people as possible. Rooms Top Group viewing/listening rooms are located on the 2nd floor. The New Media Center (2nd floor) also has rooms that can be reserved for group viewing/listening. For more information, contact the New Media Center via email to NewMedia@brooklyn.cuny.edu or at (718) 951-5327.

Students, staff, and faculty may reserve group viewing/listening rooms. Faculty, staff, and students can book a group viewing/listening room by contacting the New Media Center (2nd floor) at (718) 951-5327.
