Special paper or options may not be used for printing on campus.
Due to the volume of printing in the Labs, all Brooklyn College printers are set up for single-sided 8½" × 11" paper only.
You can check your printing balance and add funds remotely.

In addition to visiting any of the patron kiosks on campus (including 3 in the Library and 1 in the Library Cafe), you can check your balance and add funds to your printing account by visiting the secure print management website at https://ocsweb.brooklyn.cuny.edu/

NB: While there are no refunds for unused paid balances, they do roll over from semester to semester. Free balances for students expire each semester.

Wireless printing is not available at this time.

Printing is available from all Library computers. However, at this time, printing from laptops is not possible. You may save your work on a floppy disk or USB portable storage device, or email it to yourself. You can then use any Library workstation to print.

Printing e-books in their entirety may not always be possible.

E-books available through services such as Ebrary, Netlibrary, and the Humanities E-Books cannot be printed in their entirety owing to copyright restrictions. However, you may be able to print a smaller number of pages, depending on the publisher's policy. Please speak to a reference librarian for further assistance.

The cost of printing depends on the document(s) you print.

Black & white printouts cost $0.10 per page. Color printouts are $0.50 per page. Payment for these printouts comes out of your printing account. Currently enrolled Brooklyn College students have access to free B&W printing, whereas all other users must create individual accounts for printing purposes. (For instructions, please see the Printing FAQ page created by the AIT.)

As a currently registered student, you have access to free printing.

Currently enrolled Brooklyn College students have access to free B&W printouts. (Color printing is not included in a student's free printing account.) The exact number of free printouts depends on your student status. For example, most full-time undergraduate students receive 300 free B&W printouts per semester. Graduate students receive 200 printouts per class with a maximum of 600 B&W printouts per semester. At the end of the semester all free balances (unused free printouts) expire and are reset for the next semester. There is no roll-over or stock-piling of unused free printouts.

All other Library users must create accounts before printing. For instructions, please see the Printing FAQ page. Alternatively, you may pick up a printing information pamphlet at any service desk.

For more information regarding the printing system (including costs, printer locations, instructions for checking your remaining balance, and so on), please see the Library's Printing service page.

There are multiple color printers in the Library.

Color printers are available in the New Media Center (2nd floor), L4 (Lower Level), and the Library Café.

Printouts are picked up at the printers on the floor of your workstation.
Pick up printouts at the service desk or self-service pickup station on the floor of your workstation (on the 1st floor, this is the Circulation Desk). Be sure to note the number of the workstation you are using, which can be found on the metal plate by the terminal.
